Doug and Libby's Story
Life
Hey Classmates! Hope all is well with all of you. We've enjoyed seeing some of you at the reunions. Others we've missed. our lives have really taken a turn in the last few years and it hasn't been a positive turn. First, we live iin Ruckersville, VA, a small town outside of Charlottsville. Doug works for 84 Lumber Co. (He voluntarily left the Army in 1992.) I taught pre-school 20 years but had to quit in 2005 due to health issues; the main one being Parkinson's Disease. I'm not responding well at all to medication. It's quite bad actually. We have 3 children; Jason is almost 27 (Do we feel old!) and living in Atlanta and loves it. J recently got engaged to a very nice girl from Atlanta but he met her in Fredericksburg. He is mortgage broker. Sarah(our baby) is 21 and will be a senior at Va Tech and loves it! She is just sick (as is Doug) about...Expand for more
the events of this spring. But they are proud of thier school and Hokies to the core. Sarah is majoring in psychology and is planntng to go to grad school right after graduating, but hasn't decided where as of yet. She is a straight A student and works very hard. Our Adam would have been 23 this past Feb. He was killed in Iraq July 22, 2006, by an AIED in Baghdad. He was a combat medic attached to an engineer company. He was driving the vehicle that was hit and was the only one mortally wounded. Needless to say, we are devastated, but very proud of the man our son became. We are trying to get on with our lives as best we can and me being sick doesn't help.
I didn't mean for this to be a downer but tnis is our life. We'd love to hear from you. Adam's death has made us realize how precious are family and friends. Fondly, Libby(Stecher) & Doug Fargo
